A man who was wanted in the United States on narcotics offences was picked by the Fugitives Apprehension Team at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Institute and was extradited on Saturday.

He is Miguel Andre Brown also known as 'Mark Thompson', 'Eric Hayes' and 'Michael Brown', a refrigerator technician of Daisy Close, Kitson Town, St Catherine.

Police told THE STAR that in 1996 Brown and cronies sold crack cocaine to undercover agents they were subsequently arrested. The vehicle Brown was driving was also searched and several thousand US dollars were found.

According to the police, Brown reportedly entered a guilty plea and was scheduled for sentencing but failed to appear and fled to Jamaica where he has been hiding since.

Members of the Fugitives Apprehension Unit on Saturday afternoon escorted Brown to the Norman Manley International Airport where he was handed over to personnel from the United States Marshals Service.
